Monthly Wrap-Up

🌼 April Wrap-Up

A month that felt like a blur… but somehow still full of little moments worth holding onto.

🌿 The Month in a Breath

April came in with good intentions (and two whole weeks off 👀) and somehow still managed to feel busy, chaotic, and gone in a flash. It’s been a mix of slow cosy moments and full-on life admin energy… the kind of month where you don’t realise how much happened until you sit down and actually think about it.

📚 Pages That Kept Me Company

Little Review:
As I said in last month’s wrap-up, this was a re-read from 2023 — and honestly? Still just as good the second time around. This one was a slow read/listen for me this month, but in the best way. I really let myself sit in the story, enjoy the banter, soak up the chemistry… and Rhett Eaton still has a hold on me, not gonna lie 🤠

There’s something about this book that just works. It’s warm, funny, a little bit chaotic, and very easy to fall into — like revisiting a comfort show you already know you love.

🎧 Total listening time: 7 hrs 54 mins
💖 Favourite Read: Flawless (by default this month — but a strong comfort pick regardless)

🎮 Pixels That Took Over My Brain

April in The Sims world has been… chaotic but creative.

  • I gave one of my older builds a little TLC, getting it ready to reappear on the blog
  • The vet build? She got a full-on glow-up — we’re talking structure changes, rooms moved around, the works. It finally feels right now
  • Chapter Three of Seasons of Us is in motion (and I’m so excited about where it’s heading 👀)

But real talk… despite having two weeks off at the start of the month, I somehow didn’t get as much done as I thought I would. Life really said “no productivity for you” 😂

💭️ Vibe Check

I can feel this month in my body.
You know that kind of tired that isn’t just “I need a nap” but more “my brain has had enough”? Yeah… that one.

🌼 Little Wins & Side-Quest Life Bits

Where do I even start…

  • Easter break = gone in a blink. But I did treat myself to a Lindt bunny and some Lidl bakery bits, so no regrets there 🐰
  • Had a sister + kids day which somehow turned into me fully invested in colouring in my niece’s book… and now I need my own. The hyperfixation is knocking and I already know I’m answering
  • That same chaotic brain has decided my theme nights need a full glow-up… we’re talking activities, music, the whole experience. I love my creativity but wow it does not come quietly 😂
  • Impulse bought two Friends-themed squishies… which the youngest has now claimed as his own. Obviously.
  • Home Bargains is becoming dangerous territory. Found these US college-style stationery sets (99p!!!) and of course I grabbed all three. Apparently there’s a California one too… so now I’m on a mission
  • Birthday chaos: youngest + my mum within a week of each other. Youngest chose his new fave all-you-can-eat spot, and for my mum he made a carrot cake (with a little help from me 💁‍♀️)
  • And the big one… my youngest went on his first ever residential school trip today 😭 just one night but still — I cried. Fully. No shame

Naturally, the solution was to convince the OH to take me to
The Spicy Librarian
for emotional support… so yes, a book haul is definitely coming soon 👀

🌱 Gentle Intentions

Nothing big. Nothing overwhelming.
Just… ease back into things, find a rhythm again, and let creativity feel fun instead of pressured.

🍿 Snack & Sip of the Month

Snack: Home Bargains has done it again — Fish ‘n’ Chips Southern Style Barbecue.
If you’re a Brit, you already know the classic… but these BBQ ones? They hit differently. Slightly dangerous how easy they are to eat.

Sip: Still very much in my tea era ☕
No surprises here.

✨ Something I Learned

Even when you think you have loads of time… it doesn’t always mean you’ll have the energy or headspace to use it the way you planned.

And that’s okay.

🔮 Looking Ahead

I need to get my brain back into gear and start creating more fun content again — the kind that made me fall in love with blogging in the first place.

Less pressure. More play.

💛 Final Thought & Come Chat

April felt messy, full, emotional, and a little bit all over the place… but also very me.
