🎨 Real-World Roots, Inspiration & Architectural Vision

Architectural forms, material details, and neighbourhood atmosphere inspired by Southeast Asian tropical living and community-centred design.
Tomarang draws its inspiration from the diverse regions of Southeast Asia, where architecture is shaped by climate, culture, and a deep connection to community life. Rather than focusing on one specific country or city, this world captures the shared architectural language found across Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia — blending tradition with modern comfort.
Homes in Tomarang are designed to breathe with the environment. Elevated structures, shaded verandas, and open-air layouts allow natural airflow to cool living spaces, while greenery and water features soften the boundaries between indoors and out. Buildings feel grounded, practical, and lived-in — never imposing, always welcoming.
Rather than grand statements, the architectural vision centres on harmony: with nature, with neighbours, and with everyday life. Tomarang feels organic and layered, as though it has grown gradually alongside its people.
The architectural vision for Tomarang is rooted in:
- Traditional stilted and raised homes designed for airflow and tropical climates
- Open-plan interiors with indoor–outdoor living at their core
- Natural materials such as wood, bamboo, stone, and woven textures
- Soft, earthy colour palettes accented with warm tropical tones
- Shared courtyards, walkways, and gathering spaces that encourage connection
Rather than ultra-modern builds or rigid symmetry, the focus is on comfortable, character-rich homes that adapt to multigenerational living and daily routines. These are spaces made for slow mornings, shared meals, evening conversations, and stories that unfold over time — perfectly reflecting Tomarang’s calm, communal spirit.ssly beautiful and endlessly reusable for storytelling. These are spaces made for weddings and family dinners, sunset conversations and everyday routines, all framed by the rhythm of the sea.e for school mornings, shared meals, weekend walks, and long-term storytelling.

The map on the left shows the neighbourhood structure used for planning and orientation, with areas grouped by household type, community function, and natural movement through the world. Districts are arranged to encourage interaction, blending homes, cafés, and gathering spaces into a cohesive whole.

✨ A Celebration of Community & Connection
Tomarang’s makeover is more than a visual transformation — it’s a celebration of culture, connection, and everyday life lived together.
Each thoughtfully designed home, apartment, and shared space reflects the rhythms of tropical living, where architecture invites the outdoors in, neighbours cross paths naturally, and community spaces become extensions of daily routines.
My hope is that this version of Tomarang encourages Sims — and players — to slow down, gather often, and create stories rooted in warmth and belonging. A place where shared meals matter, courtyards come alive in the evenings, and life unfolds at a gentler, more connected pace.
Tomarang isn’t about grand spectacle or showpiece builds. It’s about creating a world that feels lived in, welcoming, and rich with possibility — ready to support multigenerational families, quiet moments, and vibrant community life alike.
