The small town of Forgotten Hollow has remained virtually unchanged for the four generations it has existed. The fog dampens what little sunlight filters through during the short days in Forgotten Hollow. Uncover the secrets this sleepy village has for you.
Welcome to Forgotten Hollow—a hauntingly beautiful world where time feels suspended beneath a veil of perpetual mist. Tucked away from the rest of the Sims world, this secluded village is defined by its shadowed streets, towering silhouettes, and an atmosphere thick with forgotten history.
Inspired by English Victorian Gothic architecture and the dark romanticism of Old Transylvanian towns, Forgotten Hollow blends ornate ironwork, steep gables, and dramatic stone façades to create a neighbourhood that feels both elegant and unsettling. It’s a place where moonlight replaces sunshine, stories linger in the fog, and every structure feels touched by something ancient.
Designed for immersive storytelling and supernatural gameplay, Forgotten Hollow invites you to explore lives shaped by mystery, legacy, and the quiet pull of the unknown.
🎨 Real-World Roots, Inspiration & Architectural Vision

Architectural forms, material details, and neighbourhood atmosphere inspired by Victorian Gothic design and the dark romanticism of historic European towns.
Forgotten Hollow draws its inspiration from Victorian Gothic architecture and the folklore-steeped villages of Old Transylvania, where buildings were designed to feel imposing, eternal, and deeply symbolic. Rather than warmth or openness, the architecture here embraces shadow, verticality, and drama—structures that feel shaped as much by legend as by function.
Instead of reflecting a single real-world location, this makeover captures the essence of Gothic romanticism: steep silhouettes, ornate detailing, and a sense that history lingers in every stone. Forgotten Hollow is not built to feel lived-in at first glance—it’s meant to feel discovered, slowly revealing its character through atmosphere and storytelling.
The architectural vision for Forgotten Hollow is rooted in:
- Gothic Revival forms with tall, narrow profiles, steep gables, and spired rooflines
- Dark stone, weathered brick, and wrought-iron detailing that suggest age and permanence
- Tall arched windows and intricate façades that emphasise height and shadow
- Compact, intentional layouts that feel enclosed, secretive, and slightly removed from the outside world
Rather than comfort or familiarity, the focus is on mood, mystery, and legacy. These are buildings designed to loom quietly, to hold secrets, and to support supernatural storytelling—homes that feel untouched by time and perfectly at home beneath a fog-covered sky.
🗺️ Neighbourhood Planning & World Layout
Forgotten Hollow is intentionally designed as a compact, self-contained world, where proximity, isolation, and atmosphere take priority over scale. Rather than sprawling outward, the neighbourhood turns inward—creating a setting where every lot feels watched by its surroundings and every path leads deeper into the mist.
The map on the left shows the planning structure used to define lot purpose and narrative flow, with locations arranged to support supernatural gameplay, legacy storytelling, and a strong sense of place.
The map on the right offers a visual interpretation of how Forgotten Hollow comes together once terrain, lighting, and environmental details are in place.

🏚️ Forgotten Hollow
A quiet, fog-shrouded enclave made up of tightly clustered homes and community spaces, designed to feel removed from the rest of the Sims world. Forgotten Hollow serves as a narrative-driven setting where legacy households, vampire lineages, and long-standing mysteries can unfold over generations.
🏰 The Straud Estate
An imposing landmark lot positioned as the visual and narrative anchor of the world. Elevated and secluded, this estate dominates the skyline and establishes the hierarchical power structure of Forgotten Hollow—casting a literal and symbolic shadow over the surrounding homes.
⚰️ Forgotten Cemetery
A solemn, atmospheric community space woven into the fabric of the neighbourhood rather than set apart from it. The cemetery reinforces Forgotten Hollow’s relationship with death, memory, and immortality, serving as both a storytelling backdrop and a reflective pause within the world’s layout.
🌫️ Residential Enclave
A small cluster of neighbouring homes arranged to feel closely watched yet quietly isolated. These lots support vampire households, occult families, and story-focused Sims who exist under the influence of the world’s dominant presence, encouraging intimate, interconnected storytelling.

🌑 A Legacy Written in Shadow
Forgotten Hollow’s makeover is more than a visual reimagining — it’s a celebration of atmosphere, storytelling, and enduring legacy. This world is shaped by quiet tension, gothic beauty, and the feeling that every space holds a history waiting to be uncovered.
Each carefully designed home and community lot reflects a world where architecture supports mystery over movement, and where stillness, shadow, and proximity shape the rhythm of daily (and nightly) life. Streets feel narrow and deliberate, landmarks loom with purpose, and the environment itself becomes part of the story.
My hope is that this version of Forgotten Hollow invites Sims — and players — to slow down and lean into story-driven gameplay. A place where generations leave marks behind them, where secrets pass quietly from one household to the next, and where the past never fully releases its hold.
Forgotten Hollow isn’t about growth or expansion — it’s about permanence, presence, and power. A world designed to feel untouched by time, ready to become the setting for whatever dark, romantic, or supernatural story you choose to tell.
