Hi, I’m Kimberley 👋
(I always hate writing these things… 😅)
My life isn’t filled with grand adventures, but as a 35-year-old mum of two boys, part-time kitchen assistant in a day nursery, and professional chaos-juggler, let me tell you — there’s never a dull moment around here.
When I’m not stirring up controlled chaos in the work kitchen, I’m usually at home baking up a storm. Cakes, cookies, traybakes, themed bakes — if it can be baked, I’ve probably tried it (or plan to). Baking has always been a passion of mine, but in recent years it’s become one of my favourite ways to calm my mind and get creative — especially when life feels loud. 🎂✨
To unwind from the daily whirlwind of work, home life, and school runs, I treasure quiet moments with a mug of tea and a good story. I’ve loved reading since childhood (Jacqueline Wilson had my whole heart back then), but these days I’m deep in romance, romantasy, fantasy, and emotionally devastating fictional men. Whether it’s a paperback, a Kindle read, or an audiobook in my headphones — it all counts.
✨ Between the Pages & Pixels
Between the Pages & Pixels is where all the pieces of my life come together.
What started as separate creative spaces — one for books, one for The Sims — slowly grew into something bigger. I realised I didn’t want to split myself up anymore. Reading, storytelling, baking, family life, gameplay, creativity… they’re all connected. They’re all different ways of telling stories.
This blog is a cosy home for the stories I read, the stories I play, and the stories I’m living. It’s real, it’s warm, sometimes messy, often chaotic — and very much me.
📚 The Bookish Me
Books are my forever comfort. I’m very much a vibes reader — mood matters more than genre — and I read across physical books, ebooks, and audiobooks (yes, audiobooks absolutely count).
You’ll usually find me gravitating toward stories with morally grey men, found families, slow burns, emotional damage, a little (or a lot) of spice, and bonus points for wolves 🐺
Here, I share reviews, wrap-ups, reading reflections, playlists, and all the little rituals that make reading feel like home.
🎮 The Sims & Storytelling Me
I’ve been playing The Sims franchise for over 21 years, ever since the Sims 2 era, quietly building worlds and stories just for myself.
After the challenges of the past few years, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and started sharing that creativity. I love realistic, lived-in builds, cosy homes with history, and character-driven gameplay that unfolds slowly — like chapters in a book.
My favourite world at the moment is Henford-on-Bagley (cosy countryside perfection), and whether I’m building a cottage or telling a gameplay story, my goal is always the same: to create spaces and stories that feel like home, with a little sparkle ✨
🍰 Life, Lived
Beyond books and pixels, this space also holds slices of my real life.
Family chaos. School runs. Themed dinners. Baking days. Monthly check-ins. Busy seasons and quiet ones. I write about life as it is — without pretending it’s perfectly aesthetic or neatly tied up.
Think of this blog as a peek behind the curtain: equal parts relatable ramble and cosy catch-up. Because real life is messy and magical… and always better with snacks involved.
