If you’ve been around here for a while, this space might look… a little different.
This blog originally lived as Sweet Simmer Homes, a cosy corner of the internet where I shared my love for The Sims 4 — builds, worlds, screenshots, and all the pixel-perfect details I adore. Around the same time, I was also running a separate blog dedicated entirely to my reading life. Two blogs. Two identities. One very tired human.
And if I’m being completely honest?
That split meant this space slowly went quiet. The last post here was back in August 2025, and every time I opened the dashboard I felt that little nudge of guilt. I loved it — I just couldn’t keep up with everything.
So at the end of January, I finally said: enough.
Not dramatically. Not impulsively. Just gently and intentionally. It was time to stop making creativity feel complicated.
Why the change?
The truth is, my interests were never meant to live in separate boxes.
I don’t just read books — I listen to audiobooks while building in The Sims.
I don’t just build — I world-build, story-tell, and romanticise pixels.
And in between all of that? There’s real life. Messy, funny, chaotic, cosy life.
Trying to keep “books over here” and “Sims over there” started to feel unnatural. So instead of forcing myself to choose, I decided to blend everything into one home.
And that’s how Between the Pages & Pixels was born.
What is Between the Pages & Pixels?
This is now a space for:
- 📚 Books & reading life — reviews, wrap-ups, hauls, series cards, audiobook thoughts
- 🏡 The Sims 4 — builds, worlds, storytelling, screenshots, creative projects
- ☕ Life bits — the in-between moments, cosy chaos, reflections and updates
All under one roof.
One voice.
One creative home that actually reflects how I live and create.
About the posts you’ll see here
As this blog evolves, you may notice:
- Some posts appearing on earlier dates
- Older content reworked and refreshed
- Familiar projects returning in a new style
These aren’t accidents — they’re intentional carry-overs from previous blogs and seasons of my creativity. Some posts are memories I still love. Some are evergreen projects that deserved a second life. Others have been rewritten entirely to match this new chapter.
You may also notice that some of the older Sims builds look a little… incomplete. A few images are missing, some details need refreshing, and things might not be as polished as I’d like. No panicking — I’m simply giving those builds some much-needed TLC in-game and will be updating each post properly as I go. This is a slow glow-up, not a rushed overhaul.
Nothing is being dumped here without thought.
This is a gradual rebuild, not a hard reset.
A fresh chapter (not a fresh start)
I’m not pretending the past didn’t exist.
I’m just choosing to move forward in a way that feels simpler, softer, and more me.
