Elves on cocoa duty!

🧝 What They Got Up To
Elvis and Toffee turned the kitchen into a festive hot chocolate station, stepping into their roles as tiny Christmas baristas for the morning.
Mugs were lined up on the counter, bowls filled with toppings, and everything was ready for a cosy cocoa moment — marshmallows, chocolate chips, whipped cream, candy canes… the works.
But this setup had a very special little guest in mind.
My niece was coming to spend the day with us, and the elves clearly wanted to make sure she felt just as included in the Christmas magic. So they left a sweet little note explaining that they’d prepared a cup especially for her too.
With mugs waiting, toppings everywhere, and a morning full of chocolatey goodness ahead, the elves made sure everyone — boys and niece alike — could start the day with a warm cup of festive cheer. ☕✨
🎬 Behind the Scenes
This one was so fun to set up — and surprisingly easy.
I grabbed a few bowls and filled them with all the fun toppings: mini marshmallows, crushed candy canes, chocolate chips, sprinkles, whipped cream… basically a full sugar dream.
Once everything was arranged on the counter, I popped Elvis and Toffee beside the mugs like proud little café owners ready to serve.
Originally, this setup was meant just for my boys. But then last week my sister asked if I could babysit my niece — so of course the elves had to include her too.
I asked the O.H. to grab her a mug while I was at work — something cute and Christmassy. Instead… he came home with what can only be described as a bucket-sized mug.
She’s four. 😂
So I ended up doing a quick panic dash to ASDA to find a smaller one.
I also found the cutest personalised Christmas colouring sheets on Pinterest where you can add names — perfect for the kids to do while I was busy stress-decorating Christmas cookies.
Her little face absolutely lit up.
Proper auntie win moment. 💛✨

💡 Recreate It at Home
Want to set up your own Elf Hot Chocolate Bar? It’s super easy:
Grab your favourite hot chocolate mix (the creamier the better!) and lay out toppings like:
• Mini marshmallows
• Whipped cream
• Chocolate flakes or sprinkles
• Candy canes (perfect for stirring!)
• Crushed biscuits or cookies
• Flavoured syrups like caramel or mint
Lay everything out buffet-style so the kids can build their own drinks.
Just make sure you’ve got napkins ready for inevitable marshmallow chaos.
For the colouring sheets, I used:
• Free (Yes Free!!!) Editable Name Christmas Colouring Pages
• Cute initial printable for front cover (and again it’s free!)
They’re brilliant for keeping little hands busy while drinks are cooling.
✨ Elf Hack of the Day
When inspiration runs low, create an “Elf Emergency Drawer.”
Fill it with easy props like:
• Cookie cutters
• Small bowls
• Mini mugs
• Paper printables
• Tiny decorations
On those nights when your brain says absolutely not, you’ll have everything ready to throw together a quick setup.
Future you will be very grateful.
