When the elves say they’re going for a spin… apparently they mean it literally.

🧝 What They Got Up To
This morning Elvis and Toffee were discovered mid-adventure — taped inside the washing machine door like two tiny thrill-seekers ready for the wildest ride at the North Pole amusement park.
Above them hung a sign announcing the attraction of the day:
THE SPIN CYCLE SCREAMER
Inside the drum, the elves looked far too pleased with themselves, clutching onto their imaginary safety bars as if the ride was about to begin.
Thankfully the machine was firmly off, but judging by their excitement, they clearly believed they’d invented the newest — and most chaotic — Christmas theme park ride.
Safe to say the boys found this one absolutely hilarious.
🎬 Behind the Scenes
This setup always makes me laugh because it really does look like the elves are about to go on the ride of their lives.
To create it, I gently taped Elvis and Toffee to the inside of the washing machine door so they’d stay in place behind the glass.
(Important note: the machine was completely OFF and unplugged — safety first, even during elf mischief!)
To really sell the idea, I printed a little rollercoaster-style sign and stuck it on the outside of the machine.
Because obviously this wasn’t just a spin cycle…
This was THE SPIN CYCLE SCREAMER 🎢🌀
It took about a minute to set up and the boys shouted “NO WAY!” the second they saw it — which always means it’s a successful elf morning.

💡 Recreate It at Home
This is a super quick setup for those nights when you need something funny but simple.
You’ll need:
- A front-loading washing machine
- Your elves
- Gentle tape or Blu Tack
- A small printed sign (optional but highly recommended)
How to set it up:
- Make sure the washing machine is completely switched off
- Carefully tape the elves inside the door so they’re visible through the glass
- Add a funny ride-style sign like “Spin Cycle: Hold On Tight!”
- Close the door and wait for the morning reaction
It’s silly, unexpected, and guaranteed to get a big laugh.s the morning feel more magical.
Memorable? Also yes.
✨ Elf Hack of the Day
Keep a roll of painter’s tape in your elf setup kit.
It sticks well enough to hold elves in place but peels off easily without damaging surfaces (or the elves themselves!).
Perfect for setups like this where they need a little extra support.
