🎉🎓 Day 19 – School’s Out! Elf Party Time

The last day of school calls for celebration — and apparently the elves were ready to start the party early.

🧝 What They Got Up To

With the final school morning before Christmas break finally here, Elvis and Toffee decided it was officially party time.

When the boys came out their bedroom, they found the elves perched proudly on the radiator, glowing like tiny party hosts thanks to their colourful glow stick necklaces. Between them sat a cheerful little sign declaring what everyone was already feeling:

School’s out for Christmas!

It might have been early morning, but the elves were clearly already celebrating — and judging by their outfits, they were ready to kick off the holiday fun in style.

A tiny end-of-term party, North Pole style. 🎉✨

🎬 Behind the Scenes

The last day of school always feels a bit special in our house — and this year was no exception.

It’s also my final work shift before Christmas break, so it feels like the whole household is stepping into holiday mode together. I like to mark the moment with a little festive setup to start the day on a fun note.

Every year I decorate the tiny hall between the boys’ bedrooms and the bathroom with foil door fringes (they’ve become a bit of a tradition now), but this year I went all in with a full party set I found online — streamers, ceiling decorations, shiny bits everywhere.

They usually stay up until they fall down, get dramatically ripped apart (thanks to my eldest’s signature dramatic doorway entrance), or until I eventually take all the Christmas decorations down.

Since that hallway is far too tiny for the elves to sit in, Elvis and Toffee ended up on the radiator in the living room instead — each wearing a glow stick necklace like they were fully ready for a festive rave.

Bright, silly, and the perfect kickoff to Christmas break. 🎄✨

💡 Recreate It at Home

This setup is super easy but full of festive energy.

You can keep it simple or go all-out depending on what you already have at home.

You’ll need:

  • Party decorations (streamers, balloons, banners, or tinsel)
  • Glow sticks or small party props for your elves
  • A sign celebrating the end of school or the start of Christmas break

If you’re like me and never keep decorations, grab a few cheap bits from the supermarket’s party aisle or card shop. I found this party pack and these foil door fringes on Amazon

How to set it up:

  • Place your elves somewhere visible where they look like they’re hosting the celebration
  • Add glow sticks or mini party props to give them that “party ready” vibe
  • Hang streamers or tinsel nearby for instant festive chaos
  • Leave a little sign announcing School’s Out for Christmas!

It’s the kind of cheerful, slightly chaotic setup that instantly makes the morning feel more magical.
Memorable? Also yes.

✨ Elf Hack of the Day

If your elves need to stand, hold decorations, or balance party props, try using:

  • Clear elastic hair bands
  • Tiny blobs of Blu Tack

They’re brilliant for helping those little arms stay in place and keeping everything steady overnight.
