📸 Day 10 – Say Cheese! Elf Photo Booth Fun

Say elfie!

🧝 What They Got Up To

Elvis and Toffee clearly decided today was their moment in the spotlight. Sometime during the night they set up their very own Elf Photo Booth, complete with tiny props, a camera, and even a few printed photos scattered around like the aftermath of a very festive photoshoot.

There were signs everywhere — “Definitely Naughty”, “Elfie Selfie”, and even a little frame for their big moment. One thing was very clear: these two were having far too much fun striking poses while everyone else slept.

Looks like the elves fancied themselves as Christmas models for the day.

🎬 Behind the Scenes

This one was such a fun setup to create. I found some adorable printable elf photo booth props and a mini booth template online, printed them out, and glued the props onto cocktail sticks so the elves could “hold” them.

To make it feel a little more real, I used my Polaroid camera to take a few tiny photos of the elves posing — and left them scattered around the scene like they’d just finished their photo session. The kids were completely convinced the elves had taken the pictures themselves, which made it even better.

Originally I had planned to make full photo booth props for the kids as well, but I completely ran out of time (tired mum life!). Honestly though, they didn’t mind at all — the tiny elf photos alone had them absolutely buzzing.

Sometimes the simplest setups end up being the most magical.

💡 Recreate It at Home

If you’d like to recreate this elf setup, it’s actually really easy:

  • Printable Elf Photo Booth & Props (these were from PixelsandPineDigital on Etsy)
  • Cocktail sticks for the props
  • A small backdrop (wrapping paper works perfectly)
  • Optional: mini printed photos for that realistic touch

If you don’t have a Polaroid camera, you can simply:

  • Take photos on your phone in square (1:1) mode
  • Print them small
  • Trim them to look like mini instant photos

For an extra festive touch, add a little bunting or tinsel behind the elves to create the perfect mini photo booth backdrop.

✨ Elf Hack of the Day

Keep a roll of washi tape in your wrapping supplies.

It’s perfect for sticking up tiny props, decorations, or elf signs because it’s gentle on walls and furniture — and it’s easy to move if you change your mind halfway through a setup.
