šŸ˜†šŸ« Day 9 – Caught Chocolate-Handed!

Some elves simply cannot be trusted around Christmas chocolate…

Busted! Elvis & Toffee couldn’t resist the Christmas chocciesĀ

šŸ§ What They Got Up To

The elves struck again — and this time they were caught mid chocolate heist.

When the boys came downstairs, they found Elvis and Toffee surrounded by a suspicious amount of wrappers. One elf had clearly taken things too far and ended up head-first inside the tub of chocolates, legs sticking out in the air like he’d dived straight in without a second thought.

The other sat nearby looking rather pleased with himself, chocolate evidence scattered everywhere.

Safe to say… their self-control skills still need a little work.

šŸŽ¬ Behind the Scenes

This setup is one that always gets the kids excited because every year I ā€œsaveā€ those big tubs of Christmas chocolates — Heroes, Celebrations, Quality Street… take your pick — ready for “Christmas week”.

If I’m honest though… I probably buy them purely for this elf moment.

The kids know we’re not supposed to open them until the Christmas holidays, so when the elves ā€œsneak into them early,ā€ I make a big dramatic fuss and say,

ā€œWell… I guess we’ll just have to eat them now!ā€

And of course… we do.

I’ve also been staring at that tub of chocolates for weeks waiting for this moment. It’s been sitting there like a tiny foil-wrapped temptation whispering my name every evening — but I’ve resisted.

Until now.

For the elves, obviously.

šŸ’” Recreate It at Home

This is one of the easiest elf setups — and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

All you need is:

  • A box or tub of Christmas chocolates (or even a biscuit tin).
  • A few empty wrappers to scatter around the scene.
  • Optional: a little chocolate smear on one elf’s face for realism.

Place one elf half-inside the tub like they’ve been caught mid-snack, and the other nearby surrounded by the evidence.

Instant elf mischief.

✨ Elf Hack of the Day

Keep a few emergency mini props tucked into your wrapping-paper stash — things like spare ribbon scraps, bows, tags, or bits of tinsel.

They’re perfect for quick elf setups and can make even a last-minute scene look festive without digging through all the Christmas boxes at midnight.

Future-you will be very grateful.
