Let the hunt begin!

š§ What They Got Up To
Today Elvis and Toffee turned into full-on Christmas detectives.
They kicked off a festive scavenger hunt by holding the very first clue, sending the boys racing around the house in search of the next hidden card.
Each clue led somewhere different ā from the Christmas tree to the baking cupboard and even the bookshelf ā with every discovery bringing them one step closer to the final prize.
At the end of the hunt, their hard work paid off with a mini treasure chest filled with shiny chocolate coins.
A pretty sweet reward for a morning of festive brainpower.
š¬ Behind the Scenes
Weāve done a few of these scavenger hunts over the years and honestly⦠they never get old.
The kids absolutely love racing around the house solving each clue, and every year I make it just a little bit longer so the fun lasts that bit more.
This time the grand prize was a tiny treasure chest stuffed with chocolate coins ā because really, who doesnāt love edible treasure?
Itās one of those setups that feels like an activity and an elf idea all in one, which makes it perfect for the weekends or days when the kids have a little more energy to burn.

š” Recreate It at Home
You can create your own elf scavenger hunt in just a few minutes.
Hereās how:
⢠Pick up a couple of packs of chocolate coins (usually easy to find in the Christmas food aisle).
⢠Scatter 5ā8 clue cards around your home (or be extra like me and do 24!) ā each answer leading to the next hiding spot.
⢠Write clues based on places in your house (the Christmas tree, the fridge, the toy box, the bookshelf).
⢠Finish with a small box, basket, or treasure chest filled with the final prize. I used this printable treasure chest
I designed my own scavenger hunt cards for this setup, and you canĀ download and print them hereĀ if you’d like to use the same clues.
⨠Elf Hack of the Day
Keep a small folder (or notes app list) of your past elf ideas.
That way each year you can quickly see what you’ve already done and avoid repeating the same setups too soon.
Future-you will definitely appreciate it when December rolls around again.
š Join In the Fun!
Do your elves ever send the kids on little adventures like this?
Iād love to hear what your elves get up to ā share your ideas in the comments and let the festive mischief continue!
