The elves decided to keep a very close eye on things today.
And by close eye… we mean googly eyes on absolutely everything.
From the moment we walked downstairs it felt like the house had suddenly come alive — every corner, appliance and photo frame staring back at us.
Apparently Elvis and Toffee have taken on a new role this December:

🧝 What They Got Up To
Today’s mischief was all about googly-eye chaos.
Elvis and Toffee clearly decided that watching over the house required a little… creative decorating.
Bins, doors, appliances, photo frames — if it could hold still long enough, it suddenly had a pair of googly eyes stuck to it.
Everywhere you looked a new funny face appeared.
Even the family photos weren’t safe.
It turned the whole morning into a little scavenger hunt of ridiculous expressions — definitely one of those elf setups that had everyone laughing before breakfast.

Even now I’ve still got the googly eyes on the kitchen bin because it makes me laugh every single time I see it. Some elf chaos is just too good to remove.
🎬 Behind the Scenes
This setup was one of the easiest (and funniest) ones to create.
I grabbed a box of googly eyes — including some giant ones — and used tiny bits of Blu Tack to stick them onto random objects around the kitchen and living room.
Blu Tack works perfectly because it:
• holds the eyes securely
• removes easily
• doesn’t damage surfaces like tape or glue can
I’ll admit I was quietly laughing to myself while sticking them everywhere… while my OH gave me that look like:
“She’s lost it again.”
Worth it.
💡 Recreate It at Home
This one is ridiculously easy and guaranteed to get a laugh.
You’ll need:
• Googly eyes – any size works, but mixing sizes makes it funnier! I got these giant ones and this box of variety sizes eyes – both from Amazon)
• Blu Tack or reusable adhesive
Then just let the chaos begin.
Stick them on things like:
• kitchen cupboards
• appliances
• the fridge
• photo frames
• doors
• toys
Anywhere that suddenly having a pair of eyes would make the kids laugh.
✨ Elf Hack of the Day
Keep a small box or drawer labelled “Elf Props.”
Each year you can reuse the same bits — Blu Tack, tape, mini props, printables and googly eyes — so elf setup nights stay quick and stress-free.
Future-you will be very grateful during those late December evenings.
