Seasonal Life

🍟 Day 3 – Welcome to McElves: Would You Like Fries with That?

Welcome to McElves — the tiniest drive-thru in town, now officially open for business.

McElves are serving up chaos with a side of fries!

🍟 What They Got Up To

The McElves clocked in bright and early today.

Elvis had clearly taken his job very seriously — apron on, name tag ready, standing proudly behind the counter like the manager of the year. Meanwhile Toffee looked more like a very enthusiastic customer… ready to order half the menu.

Tiny burgers, fries, hot dogs and cola bottles were scattered across the counter and floor, making the whole setup look like the aftermath of a very busy lunch rush.

Honestly, if elves ran a fast-food chain, this is probably exactly what it would look like.

And judging by the chaos… business was booming.

🎬 Behind the Scenes

So originally, the plan was to build this setup from scratch.

I had found printable miniature McDonald’s food props and planned to create a tiny paper burger stall. But December chaos kicked in and I completely ran out of time (and creative energy 😅).

Then the universe stepped in.

While browsing Etsy I found the cutest miniature McDonald’s counter set, complete with tiny food products and shelves. It looked exactly like the fast-food stand I had imagined — only way more detailed.

Of course I still added a few personal touches:

🍟 I printed a tiny McDonald’s-style apron for Elvis
🍟 Made him his own little name tag
🍟 Added a golden “M” logo to the front

The finishing touch was scattering gummy sweets around the scene so the boys would discover them in the morning like the elves had just finished their busiest shift.

Totally worth it when I saw their faces light up.

💡 Recreate the McElves Setup at Home

If you want to create your own fast-food themed elf setup, here’s what I used:

• Miniature Mc Fast Food Stand – Elfandfairyprops on Etsy (product no longer available but seller has other cute elf size props!)
• Elf-Sized Apron Template – See Kate Sew
• McDonald’s Logo Bundle – Secretstorepk on Etsy
• Gummy Sweets – found in most supermarkets

Extra Tip:
Mini ketchup sachets or trimmed straws also work brilliantly as tiny elf-sized props.

✨ Elf Hack of the Day

Keep a folder on your phone called “Instant Elf Props.”

Whenever you spot printables, miniature props, or tiny toy food during the year, screenshot or save them there.

By December you’ll have a ready-to-go stash of ideas when time (or energy) runs out.

🎁 Join In the Fun!

Have your elves ever taken over a fast-food restaurant?

Or maybe they run their own café?

I absolutely love hearing about everyone’s setups, so share your Day 3 elf scenes in the comments — the creativity people come up with every year is honestly the best part of the season.
