Reading Life

😈 The Seven Deadly Sins… But Make It Books

Because if I’m going to sin, I might as well do it with a paperback in hand.

Is there anything better than a book trend that lets us be a little dramatic, a little chaotic, and completely honest about our reading habits?

The Seven Deadly Sins have been making their rounds again — but instead of moral lessons, we’re using them to expose ourselves… one bookshelf confession at a time.

So here it is: my Seven Deadly Sins as Books.

Because if we can’t be a little sinful in our reading life… when can we? šŸ‘€šŸ”„

šŸ“– 1. Lust — Books I Bought Purely for the Cover

Because sometimes… the cover is the personality.

Let’s not lie — we’ve all been seduced by a pretty cover (and will absolutely do it again).

The Pumpkin Spice CafƩ

This cover is autumn wrapped in a cardigan. Crunchy leaves, cosy romance, cinnamon lattes… it’s basically a one-way ticket to Stars Hollow.
Did I buy it for the vibes? Yes.

Do I regret it? Absolutely not.

My Dark Romeo
Those cherubs. That drama. That slightly unhinged classical energy.
Tell me why this looks like it belongs in a museumĀ andĀ a morally grey romance shelf? Immediate add-to-basket behaviour.

Phantom
The mask. The roses. The drama.
If a cover whispersĀ ā€œgothic but make it romanticā€Ā I am already emotionally invested.

šŸ‘‘ 2. Pride — Books That Challenged Me (But I Won)

Some books test your patience, your emotions… and your will to continue.

Butcher & Blackbird

Phenomenal. Truly.
But thatĀ ice cream chapter? I will never be the same. If you know, you know.

Close Your Eyes
Multiple POVs had me flipping back and forth like I was training for the Olympics.
Interesting concept, but my brain definitely needed a lie down halfway through.

Binding 13
Beautiful. Emotional. Devastating.
But those heavy themes? I had to pause more than once just to breathe.

😓 3. Sloth — Books That Have Lived on My TBR Forever

These books are basically paying rent on my shelves at this point.

My Roommate Is a Vampire

Bought because it looked adorable. Still unread. Still judging me.

The Figurine
A thoughtful gift… that IĀ willĀ read someday.

Powerless

BookTok made me do it. BookTok has not made me read it yet.

šŸ’° 4. Greed — Books I’m Low-Key Tempted to Gatekeep

Because sometimes a book hits so perfectly you want to keep it to yourself.

Knotted

Dark cowboy romance that rewired my brain chemistry.

Her Elemental Dragons

Reverse harem perfection. I wouldĀ thriveĀ there

Nanny for the Neighbours

Modern chaos, spice, and obsession-worthy dynamics.

šŸ”„ 5. Wrath — Books I Didn’t Love (Sorry… Not Sorry)

Every reader has opinions… mine just come with a little fire.

Highest Bidder

Started intrigued…gave up 60% in really frustrated.

Saving 6

Loved the earlier books, but this one lost me.

If Love Had a Price

The FMC and I simply did not vibe.

šŸ° 6. Gluttony — Books I’ve Read Again (and Again)

Some books just hit every single time.

Haunting Adeline

Still obsessed. Still unwell about it.

Heartless

Cade Eaton owns my heart permanently.

Lights Out

Dark, chaotic comfort read energy.

šŸ’š 7. Envy — Books I Want to Live Inside

Judge me if you must… but the fantasy is strong.

How My Neighbour Stole Christmas

Cosy town + grumpy MMC = ideal life.

Sugar Daddies

We all have fantasies. This is mine..

Bride

Werewolves, tension, and… yeah. You know.

Dark, chaotic comfort read energy.

šŸŽ€ Final Thoughts

This trend was way too much fun — and honestly? Slightly exposing.

But that’s the magic of reading, isn’t it?
Books hold every version of us — the chaotic, the cosy, the romantic, the unhinged.

And if the Seven Deadly Sins want to organise my bookshelf?
I’m absolutely letting them.

šŸ’¬ Join Me

Have you done this trend too? Tell me your sins šŸ‘€

Let’s compare, enable each other’s TBRs, and pretend we have any self-control when it comes to books.

Until next time… happy reading besties ā¤ļøšŸ“šāœØ
